NDIS Supported Home Care Services

The NDIS supports Medigalaxy group elder care providers. The National Disability Insurance Scheme, or NDIS, is an intuitive insurance program that helps provide support and coverage for people with disabilities, both permanent and significant.

About the NDIS Program

The NDIS was created in 2013 to provide more individual care plans to those who need it, rather than broad-scope care that didn’t meet the care needs of those outside an average group. Currently, hundreds of thousands of Australians receive some form of coverage through the NDIS.

How the NDIS Can Help You

There are many ways that Medigalaxy group providers use NDIS to provide better elder care in their home care packages and beyond.

Daily Living Assistance

NDIS-qualified patients living independently or with the help of family can access some of our support. This includes daily living support such as personal care tasks, routine management, and support for personal well-being activities such as hobbies, travel, and life skills training.

Community Involvement

We understand that everyone’s care requirements and situations are unique. To provide the right care, we take the time to understand patients’ needs and desires regarding their community participation goals.

This includes finding the level of support needed, the daily assistance required, and getting patients involved in community events to prevent mood changes often associated with community loss. The overall goal of NDIS in regard to community involvement is to bolster independence.

About NDIS Coverage

Every qualifying patient under NDIS coverage has support for a variety of needs. These can include but are not limited to:

Community Integration

Costs associated with getting patients involved in enriching community activities.

Household Task Support

Depending on qualifications, the household task services of NDIS-covered patients may be covered.

Travel Assistance

Additional coverage for travel expenses, such as to and from doctor's appointments or community events

Life Stage Transition Support

Additional general support may be covered to help patients transition from one stage of life to another.

How We Work with NDIS

The NDIS has set standards and requirements all care providers must follow to be a regional care provider supported by the NDIS. We screen our staff to ensure compliance with the NDIS so providers in our group are always within regulations. We also spend extensive time working with direct care providers (usually family members) to provide them with as much assistance as possible with the burden of in-home care.

All of our NDIS-covered services are personalized in nature to ensure the right services and level of care are provided to all patients.
